IGCSE History takes you behind the scenes of the most explosive events of the 20th century. Students explore the complexity of international relations and domestic struggle, focusing on two of the most significant eras in human history:

  • The Path to War (1918–1945): We examine the fragile peace following WWI and the eventual collapse into WWII. Our Depth Study on Germany looks at the rise of the Nazi Party, the machinery of propaganda, and what life was really like under a totalitarian regime

  • The Cold War & The Iron Curtain: Alternatively, we explore the conflict between Communism and Capitalism. From the end of WWII to the fall of the Berlin Wall, we investigate the secret motives and ideologies that divided the world for decades.

Recognised globally, IGCSE History develops critical thinking skills which are essential for a career in law, media or business. Students learn to:

  • Interrogate the Evidence: by evaluating a range of sources and identifying bias

  • Understand Human Motives: Discover the “why”, exploring the emotions, beliefs, and intentions of people throughout history

  • Build Powerful Arguments: Learn to organise your thoughts and communicate with clarity, logic, and authority
