AS Level Music

Prerequisites: A minimum of a B grade in IGCSE Music is recommended, or entry is at the discretion of the Curriculum Leader. Students must continue individual lessons.

This one-year course builds on IGCSE and includes Listening, Performing and Composing.

Listening (60%): Students study set works alongside a broad range of musical styles, developing analytical and critical listening skills. Assessed by external examination.

Performing (20%): Students present a 6 to 10-minute performance. Internally assessed.

Composing (20%): Students compose two contrasting pieces with a combined duration of approximately four minutes. Internally assessed.
